Estimation Engineer

Job Description

1. Reviewing and analyzing project tender documents, including drawings, specifications, and bill of quantities.
2. Conducting site visits and assessments to gather accurate information for cost estimation.
3. Preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets for civil construction projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and other associated costs.
4. Collaborating with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations and pricing for various project elements.
5. Evaluating subcontractor and supplier proposals to determine the most suitable and cost-effective options.
6. Analyzing and comparing vendor pricing and quotations to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
7. Assisting in the preparation and submission of tender documents, including technical proposals and commercial offers.
8. Participating in tender clarification meetings and responding to client inquiries and requests for information.
9. Conducting value engineering exercises to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality.
10. Assisting in the negotiation and finalization of contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
11. Monitoring and tracking project costs throughout the construction phase to ensure adherence to budget.
12. Assisting in the preparation of progress claims, variations, and change orders for accurate billing and payment certification.
13. Conducting cost analysis and cost control measures to manage project expenditures effectively.
14. Keeping abreast of industry trends, market rates, and regulations related to tendering and estimation in the civil sector.
15. Utilizing software tools and spreadsheets for efficient and accurate cost estimation and documentation.
16. Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide input on cost-related matters.
17. Assisting in the preparation of post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and improve future estimations.
