Scope of civil Engineering in India 2020
Civil Engineering is one of the oldest, traditional branches of Engineering . Civil engineering has not so much scope in India after 2015 because of education system in India.
Employment of civil engineers is projected to down 20% from 2015 to 2022, which is also much faster than the average for all occupations.
If you are student please focus on your core subjects like structure , Design , Building construction Surveying etc.
Graduate Civil Engineers in India drew average entry level salary of Rs.264,000 per / yr in 2015. But in 2019 Entry level salary is Rs. 120000 per / yr
Don’t lose Hope
According to a report published in The Economic Times, 95 billion sq. ft. is the predicted demand in the real estate and construction industry by 2020. Despite such high demand, the sector lacks sufficient workforce to meet this demand.
Based on the report titled “Real Estate and Construction Professionals in India by 2020″ by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, there is a demand-supply gap ranging between 82% and 86% of skilled civil engineers, architects and others. This means our country needs 4 million skilled civil engineers until next year. These are a few statistics that make it clear that there is a massive demand for these professionals in the near future.
Course Detail of B-tech in India
It is a 4 years long Degree program. The 4 years’ duration is divided into 8 semesters, each lasting a period of 6 months.
During each semester, students will have to deal with separate sets of theoretical subjects as well as practical sessions . But in India we seen only theoretical Subject . Civil Engineering discipline is all about planning, construction and maintenance of structures such as buildings, roads, stadiums, dams etc.
