How to Calculate Cement, Sand Quantity fo plastering ?
There are different grades of mortar that can be used for plastering of masonry structural members such as in CM 1:2, 1:4, 1:6, 1:8 etc. Cement Mortar in ratio 1:6 is generally used for plastering work.
Area of Plaster = 1 m * 74 m
Plaster Thickness = 10 mm
Volume of mortar = 74 m 2 x 0.010 m = .740 m 3
Ratio for Plaster Taken is = 1 : 6
Sum of ratio is = 7
Calculation for Cement Volume
Dry Volume of Mortar = .740 x 1.35 =1 m3
Cement= (1/7) x 1 = 0.14 m3
Density of Cement is 1440/m3
= 0.14 x 1440 = 201 kg
We know each bag of cement is 50 kg
= (201/50) = 4.02 Bags
Calculation for Sand Volume
Sand = (6/7) x 1 = 0.85 m3
Density of Sand is 1450/m3
= 0.85 x 1450 = 1232.5 kg
Now we find how many CFT (Cubic feet) Required
As we know that 1m3 = 35.31 CFT
= 0.85*35.31
= 30.01 CFT (Cubic Feet)
