You will become part of COWI’s Bridges unit, which holds more than 600 skilled experts worldwide. In this position you will join our global team of experts and work closely with Head of Section-Bridges, your finest task in our team will be to perform analysis and design calculations adhering to codes and standards, prepare design reports as per project requirements in compliance with company standards.

Masters/Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering with 8+ years of experience in RCC and PSC bridge design
Proficiency in the Finite Element Method (FEM) and the use of commercial FEM-software like SOFISTIK
Experience with text-based programming, e.g. VBA
Proven track record of working with international codes such as the Eurocode
The confidence to lead teams and manage projects in an international setting
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office software, particularly MS Excel and Word

Highways and Airports Intl. consisting of around 30 Specialists, Engineers and Draftsmen specialising in Roads, Highways, Airports and Utilities. Together we collaborate with colleagues across 4 continents, from Asia to Africa, Europe, and North America. We provide technically sound and economically feasible solutions that support coherent, future-proof infrastructure that optimises mobility and takes climate protection and water management into account.

DESIGN THE FUTURE WITH A GLOBAL TEAM OF EXPERT

In this position, you will join our global team of experts and work closely with Head of Section – Highways and Airports. Your finest task in our team will be to take up geometric design tasks on road and airport projects, complying with COWI systems and processes.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for:

Providing the technical assurance of designs and develop innovative and integrated design solutions.
Handling the design process and work with a team of engineers to carry out designing, modelling/drafting and documentation

ENGINEERING TRAINEE- MARINE (42379)

The Marine Department of COWI, India is undertaking projects from both international and domestic markets and offers a comprehensive range of consulting services related to the development of ports, harbours, coastal and marine structures etc. COWI Marine department is supporting their clients to draw a detailed picture of any consequences on the built and natural environment arising from the development/installation of any port, marine, coastal project.

DESIGN THE FUTURE WITH A GLOBAL TEAM OF EXPERTS
In this position, you will undergo on the job training and join our global team of experts . Upon completion, the trainees will have developed capabilities and competencies enabling them to solve complex structural design & modelling tasks on large scale international Energy & Marine projects. You will also develop competencies in the use of commonly used design software’s for such structures. During the program, you would also have the opportunity to work on live projects and get some hands-on experience.

Training will cover topics such as:

Knowledge in port, terminal, coastal and offshore structures and load calculations
International design standards like EuroCode, American & Indian codes etc.
Design software packages and tools including training in Robot, SAP, and STAAD pro, SACS and SESAM
Different Material usage and design methods including concrete, steel & precast elements
Quality Management of structural design and drawings
3D BIM software like TEKLA, Revit, Civil3D, Navisworks etc.,
Basic programming skills in Python programming and API to encourage the trainees to developing scripts for complex designs

Have gained knowledge of design softwares during studies. Understanding of international standards and codes will be an advantage.
Have good computer coding/scripting competency in languages viz Python, Java, C# and VBA.
Have basic knowledge of 3D modelling tools like REVIT, TEKLA, AUTOCAD 3D, CIVIL 3D, etc. Understanding of basic concepts in parametric modelling in structural optimization will be an advantage.
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
